The ILMA University was previously called IBT Institute of Business & Technology).This private sector research based university was established as a project of the Global Education Consultants (GEC) in 2001,in order to promote the Higher education system in Pakistan. The university achieved the title of an autonomous degree awarding body after the promulgation of Sindh Government Act in 2004.Quite recently (May 2021) the charter of IBT was elevated through the Sindh Assembly Act.
The University excelled in the field of higher education proving its managerial and adminstrative skills. The university has rendered commendable services in the field of education. The HEC has placed the prestigious university in ‘W’ category. The Government of Sindh has awarded the highest 6 star rating to the ILMA University. It has the distinction of being one the few universities who offer the management and computer science programs that are accredited from respective accrediting bodies in Pakistan.
ILMA is a non-profit multi-campus University that is based in Karachi. The main campus of the University is situated in Korangi Town. While there are three satellite or Delivery Centers located at various prime locations in Karachi. The purpose of building multiple campuses all over Karachi was to make quality and premium class education accessible to the students. The Aladdin Campus is situated on Rashid Minhas Road. The EDC Campus is in the close proximity of the shahrah-e-Faisal Road. The third campus known as Gulshan Campus which exists in the area of Gulshan-e Iqbal.
In order to maximize the impact of quality education, the students are provided mental and physical comfort and ease. Many facilities and service are provided to the students so that they can pay full attention to their academic growth and personal development. The spacious classroom are fully air conditioned. And electricity backup measures such as generator are available on the campus. Tremendous investment has been made into the infrastructure of the university. The Student e-info portal is distinguishing feature of the University. The student e-portal is a robust and efficient system developed by the University for the students. The students can obtain all the academic information (such as semesters enrolled, courses taken, credit requirements left etc.) and non-academic information (such as pending bills, advisor information etc.) from the student info portal. A spacious and well-furnished auditorium is built in the campus to increase the decorum of the university.
The ILMA University has about 2000 notable alumni that are serving humanity and making significant contributions worldwide. The graduates of the ILMA University are south by leading firms, multi-national institutions and top-notch companies. The ILMA University has a history of serving the deserving students.
